Project Management should be understood as a structured framework to address common project management issues in an organization, in order to ensure project success. This can be achieved through a Project Management Office (PMO) that has the following features:

Methodology based on industry, professional, and organizational best practices

Training on the methodology should be provided to all Project Managers

Methodology is reviewed and modified as required to meet the organization's needs

PMO serves as the central source of information regarding the adopted methodology.


The main goals of Project Management Office are:

Objectively review projects and report findings to improve project success and Project Manager skills (project health check)

Serve as project advisor/consultant to the Project Manager and the project team

Assist Project Manager with methodology, techniques and tools usage

Report and escalate to relevant stakeholders, on a timely basis, its evaluation of the effectiveness of Project Management methodology implementation.
